Northmore sign-off with battling display (02-04-2012)
Northmore lost their final game of the season yesterday on a tough morning for the Bears.
Up against Worthing Park Vale who knew a win would all-but guarentee them the league title, with a squad of 13 players that included only one genuine centre back (Adam Scott) who was required between the sticks, it was always going to be a tough ask for the Northmore players.
Despite the odds being against Northmore, every single player battled hard and worked until the end and it was only two silly mistakes in the opening 15 minutes and a terrible penalty decision which lost the game for the Bears. Although they didn't pose much of a threat going forward, their defensive attitude and workrate was amongst the best we've seen this season and a draw wouldn't have flattered Northmore.
We look back on a mixed season following the high of last year, but look forward to stepping our performances up for next season. COYB!
